Woman’s Reusable Sanitary Pads
This is such a basic sanitary need EVERY SINLGE MONTH for woman across the world and we came to the realization that there are not thousands of woman in need, but millions! A group of ladies come together and use upcycled material from used but sterilized bed linen and towels to make sanitary pads for the ladies in need. Some girls even miss school 3 days a week because of their monthly cycle. The washable sanitary pads will help them to receive 3 days extra education every month.
The aim is to deliver pads wherever needed. easiest to distribute is South Africa and Lesotho and 1500 went to Beirut. We are also aiming to donate these pads at schools in Africa in aid of education.
To get involved in helping girls and woman we need financial support to expand in regards to sewing machines and material.
Educational Sponsorships
The need for education is so big and overwhelming that by giving one life the chance to nutrition and education not only gives them a chance to discover their potential, but also sets the foundation for future parents and members of society. We can make a difference one life at a time and see how far the ripple effect of that one pebble in water can reach.
Upcycle Hope is currently sponsoring 4 children for nursery for one year and we hope to increase this number to 40 by 2022. This package includes transportation to and from nurseries and two meals a day when they attend the nursery.
We would like to add more primary and secondary sponsorships and have 2 pupils on our system for 2021 primary school year, which can hopefully increase in the near future.
Food Drives & Feeding Families
Currently Upcycle Hope is feeding 88 families in South Africa every month and supporting a village with about 35 people in Lesotho. Due to Covid19, there are many many more people in need and regulated soup kitchens are trying their best to keep up.
In Dubai we have some families we are helping with food hampers, clothes and nappies. Some of these families have new-born babies and got stuck in Dubai due to the 2 week lockdown which was extended and they had to give birth here without any income or means to work or pay rent.
Animal & Environmental Welfare
When working in the field we also come across many neglected animals and have partnerships coming to help us or we donate and help them in their projects to also look after the environment we find ourselves to be more sustainable for future generations. Washable nappies and sanitary pads is also much less impact on the environment.
Much growth is needed here and our dream would be solar panels and forms of energy which is more sustainable and less pollution and demand on the environment.
